MCSO: 7 illegal immigrants arrested

PHOENIX – Seven illegal immigrants were arrested by Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Human Smuggling detectives Wednesday night in the North Valley.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio said five individuals fled from a Dodge Caravan and were quickly apprehended, while the remaining two were located at a residence asking for water.

Members of the group admitted to paying between $500 and $3,000 to be brought into the United States from Mexico and Guatemala. Their destinations were New York, New Mexico, and Ohio.
