Soldiers find 489 pounds of marijuana abandoned in Miguel Aleman

Authorities are investigating how 489 pounds ended up in a wooded area south of the border in Miguel Aleman.
Mexico’s Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) reported that soldiers made the discovery on Tuesday.
Soldiers were patrolling the Colonia Monte Bello when they spotted something unusual in a wooded area.
The soldiers went in for a closer look and found 150 packages with 489 pounds of marijuana hidden under a blue tarp.
No arrests are reported but federal officials are investigating how the marijuana ended up there.
Miguel Aleman is located across the border from Roma, Texas.
