Border agents save 4 immigrants

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents saved the lives of four illegal aliens, including a pregnant woman earlier this week.
The pregnant woman, who is a national of Honduras, was rescued Tuesday by agents with the Border Patrol Search, Trauma and Rescue (BORSTAR) team.
According to a press release, the agents found the woman in a ranch near San Manuel, Texas, after she became separated from the group with which she was traveling and fell into distress. The agents offered her medical attention, which she declined.
BORSTAR agents rescued another illegal alien, who is from Peru, later that afternoon on the same ranch. The man also declined medical attention and was transported to the Falfurrias Station for processing.
Later that evening, BORSTAR agents saved the life of an illegal alien from Mexico, who was suffering from severe dehydration. The man was taken to Edinburg Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The fourth rescue was made near San Isidro, Texas, after Starr County sheriff’s deputies notified agents of a distress call. The man, who is from El Salvador, was lost in the brush and suffering from the extreme heat and lack of water. He was offered, but declined, medical attention.
So far for fiscal year 2012, agents have saved the lives of more than 200 people and found the remains of close to 70.
The number of rescues is up nearly 75 percent for the same time period last year and the number of deaths is up by more than 100 percent, the release stated.

four trespassers attempting illegal entry.” After hosing
them off and fingerprints and mugshots there should be a one way passage to the guatemalan border of Mexico.
