Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a convicted sex offender and seized nearly 130 pounds of marijuana during two incidents Sunday and Monday.
Yuma Station agents patrolling near Andrade, Calif., Sunday detected footprints of four people who had entered the U.S. illegally, according to a press statement released Tuesday. After the group was apprehended, records checks revealed that one had been convicted of indecent liberties with a child. The suspect, a Honduran national, was processed for prosecution.
Wellton Station agents assigned to Camp Grip, Yuma Sector’s forward operating base Monday, discovered six bundles of abandoned marijuana in the desert. After searching the area and finding no suspects, the marijuana, valued at $65,000, was seized for destruction.
